In view of that in system of ignition very high voltage is developed, service of its components should be made with extra care. This remark belongs not only to the main knots of electronic system of ignition, but also and to all accompanying components, including tips of candle wires, a tachometer and the other diagnostic equipment. |
Systems of contactless ignition with the distributor
Check of serviceability of giving of VV of tension on spark plugs

1. This check is best of all for making by means of a special tester. Now the wide circulation was received by three types of testers of ignition. The inductive principle of functioning of a neon lamp is put in a basis of a design of the first of them; the device simply nestles on a candle wire and the regular blinking of a lamp confirms serviceability of giving on the corresponding candle of VV of tension. Testers with the adjustable air gap which is adjusted according to performance data of a spark plug are issued. One more tester outwardly looks as a spark plug equipped sideways with the plug of grounding, but without a lateral electrode. Testers of two last types allow not only to check serviceability of giving on a candle of VV of tension, but also (on color of flash) to estimate intensity of an iskroobrazovaniye, - the weak spark differs yellow-orange color, strong - blue. |
2. Professionals usually use an oscilloscope for this check, one of which working wires is equipped connected to VV to a wire with the inductive sensor, the second - the plug, allowing to earth the device on weight.
3. Disconnect a wire from a spark plug and connect it to a tester. Earth the device on mass of the power unit.

When using tester with the neon indicator need for a detachment of electroconducting is absent. In the absence of near at hand tester it is enough to delay a rubber cover of a tip of a candle wire up and to bring plugs to mass of the engine on distance about 6 mm and to watch intensity of an iskroobrazovaniye. |
4. Turning the engine, watch a spark which is forming between plugs of a tester 5. Existence of a spark of bright blue color confirms serviceability of giving on a candle of VV of tension. 6. In the absence of an iskroobrazovaniye first of all it is necessary to check a condition of a candle wire, then to pass to diagnostics of separate components of system of ignition. |

Identification of the cylinder responsible for admissions of ignition
|
1. Choose neutral transfer (RKPP) / transfer the selector lever to situation P (AT). Cock the parking brake. 2. Start the engine and leave it working at single turns.
|
3. Start to disconnect serially wires from spark plugs, - the wire should be held for a tip, making it rotary motions. In order to avoid receiving electric shock make a detachment of VV of electroconducting by means of special nippers with the isolated handles. If the detachment of a wire leads to violation of stability of turns of the engine, therefore, this cylinder functions regularly, - connect a wire on a place and disconnect the following. Continue check until the defective cylinder will be revealed, - at a wire detachment from its spark plug of visible changes in operation of the engine will not occur. |
4. Muffle the engine and check a condition of VV of a wire and a spark plug of the suspected cylinder. In case of need make diagnostics of other components of system of ignition (see below). |
