Check of oil pressure

Check of serviceability of functioning of a measuring instrument of pressure of oil


1. Disconnect from a measuring instrument electroconducting. By means of a special lamp sampler (12 In, 2.4 W) earth socket contact from a measuring instrument plait on weight.

2. Include ignition.
3. If all components of a chain work regularly, the control lamp will light up and will start to work in a continuous or flashing mode, the arrow of a measuring instrument will thus be displaced. If the lamp works, but the arrow of a measuring instrument remains motionless, replace a measuring instrument. At simultaneous refusal and a lamp and a measuring instrument it is necessary to make the corresponding regenerative repair of an electric chain. Also check a sensor condition, in case of need make its replacement (see further).

Check of serviceability of functioning of the sensor of pressure of oil


1. Disconnect from the sensor electroconducting and turn out it from a landing head of the polnopotochny oil filter.
2. Connect an ohmmeter between the contact plug and the case of the sensor and consider instrument reading. If conductivity is absent, replace the sensor.
3. Further pass a thin core in an oil opening in a sensor end face. Press on a core and again consider the ohmmeter indication, - conductivity should disappear, otherwise replace the sensor.

The sensor should be disconnected at creation in a pressure opening about 5 kgfs/cm2.

4. By giving in the sensor of air check serviceability of a condition of its diaphragm (the sensor should remain tight).

Pressure check


1. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.

If the stereosystem established on the car is equipped with a security code before disconnecting the battery make sure that have the correct combination for audiosystem input in action!

2. To Poddomkratta the car also establish it on props.

3. Disconnect from the sensor electroconducting and turn out it from a landing head of the oil filter.

4. Check is made by connection of a special mechanical manometer instead of the sensor of pressure of oil. The tachometer if check has to be made at certain turns of the engine can be demanded also.
5. Following instructions of manufacturers, connect instead of the sensor a mechanical manometer for measurement of oil pressure. In case of need connect also a tachometer. Connect a negative wire to the battery.
6. Start the engine and leave it working at single turns.
7. Consider the manometer indication at the cold engine. Write down result of measurement.

In case of need it is necessary to establish turns of the engine on a preset value, - see. Specifications.

8. Warm up the engine to normal working temperature (the top radiatorny hose should become warm to the touch).
9. Consider the manometer indication at the hot engine, write down result, then switch off ignition.
10. Compare results of measurements to requirements of Specifications. Excessively low pressure at the hot engine and high at the cold say that oil not that grade is used. Fill in in the engine oil of a demanded grade and repeat check.
11. Excessively low indications in both measurements testify violation of serviceability of functioning of the oil pump (the probability of use of too liquid oil is not excluded also). Overestimate of both indications can be connected with case overflow, excessively high viscosity of the oil filled in in the engine or with malfunction of the reduktsionny valve of the oil pump.

12. Grease a carving part of the sensor with hermetic, or wind it with the FUM teflon tape/tape. Screw the sensor in a head of the basis of the oil filter and tighten it with demanded effort (12 H • м). Restore initial connection of electroconducting.
